What is clearCorrect?
ClearCorrect is a comfortable removable clear aligner, almost like a see-through gumsheild that moves your teeth into the ideal position over time. ClearCorrect aligners are an alternative to metal braces.
Most people dont even know you are wearing them which is why they are sometimes called "invisible braces". The best thing about them is that you can remove them to clean your teeth and eat.
How long does ClearCorrect treatment take?
Treatment time varies depending on the amount and type of tooth movement required and can vary from six months to a couple of years. At your consultation, Dr Cathryn Peach will be able to give you an approximate estimate of timescales.
How often will I need to come for appointments?
It depends on your treatment plan and how you are progressing. Some patients require to attend every 2 weeks and others may be every 6 weeks. Thsi is to allow Dr Cathryn Peach to check on your progress, make any adjustments and give you your next set of aligners. Each set of aligners is worn for approximately 2 weeks for the duration of your treatment.
Am I suitable for ClearCorrect?
As long as your teeth are healthy then you should be a suitable candidate for ClearCorrect. Your suitability will be assessed at your consultation. Most patients need a appointment with a hygienist before starting treatment.
If you have a strong gag reflex or do not think you can commit to wearing the aligners for at least 22 hours per day, then we should discuss alternitive options.
There are some cases where ClearCorrect is not suitable such as complex bite problems or severe crowding. if this is the case, Dr Cathryn Peach will be able to discuss your next steps.
How do I get started?
We simply need to see you for a consultation to check everything is nice and healthy. We then take a digital scan of your teeth and submit that to ClearCorrect for your treatment setup.
This will include a 3D simulation of what your teeth will look like throughout the treatment process. Once you are happy with the proposed treatment, we approve the case and your aligners will be with us within a few weeks.
Will it hurt?
As with all orthodontic treatments, some patients experience mild discomfort. This will be discussed during your consultation and appropriate mild pain killers such as paracetamol are advised, subject to your medical history and suitability.
Will it effect my speech?
Initially, you might speak with a slight lisp whilst your tongue adjusts to the aligners. After a few days, you will adjust to the aligners and your speech will be back to normal. ClearCorrect aligners are discreet and should not impact your daily life.
How much will it cost?
Pricing can vary from case to case, however, we do offer FREE consultations and accurate pricing will be given to you by Dr Cathryn Peach then.
